We’ve put together a summary of our favourite luxury stays in the Grampians - well worth adding to your bucket list.

Step into this stunning sanctuary in Southern Grampians. The Royal Mail Hotel features sweeping views of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park with an interior designed to match. The warm tones and timber finishes provide the perfect contrast to the austere rocky backdrop.

Dine in their acclaimed restaurant Wickens, take a tour of their kitchen garden which provides 80% of the produce on their menu, or indulge in a wine tasting from their highly awarded wine list. If you need time out, check out their suggestions for a nature retreat, or head off on some of the walking tracks created exclusively for hotel guests.

Only five minutes from the site you’ll find two of the Hotel’s other luxury escapes: Mount Sturgeon Cottages and Mount Sturgeon Homestead. Mount Sturgeon Cottages offers guests a cosy sanctuary in 1940s bluestone cottages. If you’re travelling with a larger group Mount Sturgeon Homestead may be the ideal location. Set on a working farm surrounded by mountain views, this is a beautifully restored 1800s colonial house. Here, guests can unwind in the formal dining room, browse the library collection, relax in the claw foot baths or enjoy a glass of wine from the wide veranda.

While in Dunkeld we suggest visiting Dunkeld General Store or Izzy’s Café for a coffee and something to eat, or have a hit at the Grampians Golf Club.

Pomonal is also home to Five Ducks Farm and a number of rewarding trail hikes, including the Tunnel track over the Mt William (Duwiu) Range.
