This friendly little township is located 25 minutes south of Ararat on the eastern slopes of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park. Willaura has a mixture of local businesses, including a wonderful local bakery, art galleries and a local candle maker.

It also has a recreation reserve with room to stretch your legs, walk the dog, and perhaps fly a kite. An outdoor pool (December to March), tennis courts, playground, shady trees, and free BBQs make this reserve a haven whatever the season.

A one-kilometre walking track nearby takes visitors around one of the district’s intriguing lignum swamps and offers an insight into the town’s history and unique environmental features.
