Peaks and Trails is Dunkeld's annual trail running weekend, designed for runners and walkers of all abilities.
Organised by a dedicated group of local volunteers, the event is a reflection of Dunkeld's community spirit and love for the landscape. The program features six course distances, ensuring there's a challenge for everyone - whether you're new to trail running or seeking an ultra-distance adventure.
Every course weaves through sections of the Grampians Peaks Trail, immersing participants in the southern Gariwerd (Grampians) region. Longer routes include access to private properties not usually open to the public, giving runners a rare chance to explore untouched terrain. The trails traverse a patchwork of open woodland, rocky ridgelines and sweeping grasslands, set against the dramatic backdrop of the region's four southern peaks: Wurgarri (Mt Sturgeon), Bainggug (Piccaninny), Mud-Dadjug (Mt Abrupt) and Signal Peak.
Whether you come to test your limits or simply soak in the views, Peaks and Trails invites you to be part of a warm, welcoming community and experience the best of Dunkeld.
