Malcura are an exhilarating Flamenco Fusion combo from Melbourne/Naarm, Australia.
Honing their craft as buskers in the Bourke Street Mall, Malcura have captivated audiences far and wide with their distinctive sound, which fuses Flamenco instrumentation with Latin rhythms and a Rock'n'roll mentality.
Consisting of Josh Voce and Jenna Campbell on Nylon-string Guitars and backed by the powerhouse rhythm section of Simon Wood on Drums and Percussion and Colin Andrews on Bass, Malcura creates music for the soul; it's a feeling as much as it is a sound.
Renowned for their head-turning musicianship, audience participation and keeping dancefloors moving at festivals across Australia and Europe (including performances at Glastonbury Festival and the Montreux Jazz Festival), Malcura are a workhorse of a live band with a tenacious stage presence.
The band have released two full-length studio albums and two EPs, along with a host of singles, which build upon their signature Heavy Flamenco style by incorporating intricate arrangements and influences from a range of styles, from Gypsy Jazz, to Swing, to Surf and Hard Rock.
Malcura are currently working on their third full-length album and are a live act not to be missed when they visit Ararat for the first time this March.
Malcura are performing as part of the Ararat Town Hall Cosy Concert Series.
