Ararat and Grampians Visitor Information Centre

Open seven days a week, the Ararat and Grampians Visitor Information Centre is situated just off the Western Highway between Melbourne and Adelaide, located just 40 minutes from the Grampians.

The accredited centre offers a range of services including detailed information on the region and its attractions, quality publications, and a range of souvenirs. Visit the Ararat Gallery TAMA presenting diverse exhibitions of national significance. Immerse yourself in the serene environment of the neighbouring Pyrenees Ranges, Mount Cole, Mount Buangor and Ararat Hills Regional Park.

Ararat and surrounding townships provide an abundance of diverse cultural and historical attractions, including the chilling dark side of the J-Ward Gaol, an institution that will captivate all who walk through its ghostly doors. Delve into Ararat's heritage at the Langi Morgala Museum and the Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre not to mention the Aradale Lunatic Asylum.
