From braised lamb to classic fish n’ chips and from fresh gelato to ‘Flamin’ BIG brekkies,’ the Grampians region is known as “Gastronomic Grampians” for a reason. Visitors can taste their way around the region with a range of culinary delights on offer. Whether you’re visiting as a solo-adventurer or bringing the whole family, expect cosy cafés, farm gate provedores, country pubs and five-star restaurants with menus to suit all budgets, palates and visitors.

Where to begin? We’ve got you covered.

Why not start with a Halls Gap foodie tour? You’ll be spoiled for choice with Flame Brothers Restaurant & Bar, Gelato Guys, The Town Fryer and The Brambuk Café & Eatery all to sample.

Flame Brothers

Flame Brothers

In the heart of Halls Gap along Stoney Creek, is Flame Brothers Restaurant & Bar. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week, Flame Brothers is the only venue in the area with an American BBQ inspired menu offering patrons a unique dining experience. Love meat? You’ll be spoiled for choice with pork ribs, salt and pepper brisket, smoked and braised lamb shanks and Nashville chicken wings. Vegetarians will not be disappointed with buffalo cauliflower, smoked mushroom burgers, mac n’ cheese and smoked corn on the cob all to be sampled at this Grampians cornerstone.

The Flame Brothers breakfast menu includes smoked bacon hock benedict, salmon bagels, brownie hot cakes and avocado bruschetta. Not for the faint- hearted, but certainly set to fill you up for your Grampians adventure, you could opt for the Flamin’ BIG Brekky featuring eggs, sauteed mushrooms, hash brown, grilled chorizo, smoked bacon, roast tomato and avocado. If a big brekky challenge is not on the agenda, quick and easy options are also available for those wanting a swift bite.

Supporting local is a big part of Flame Brothers’ ethos. Expect to see local vineyards and breweries - Paper Scissors Rock Brew Co., Pomonal Estate, Miners Ridge and Fallen Giants - well represented on the drinks menu. Hot tip: don’t leave without tasting the cocktail special - you won’t be disappointed.

The Town Fryer

The Town Fryer

There’s nothing quite like fish n’ chips. From family packs to fried fish, and from potato cakes to Chiko rolls, The Town Fryer provides an unbeatable Aussie fish n’ chips experience. You won't just find the classics at this Halls Gap staple, burgers, plant-based feeds and fan-favourites - sweet corn fritters - are all on offer. The Town Fryer is open seven days a week with dine-in or takeaway options available. Why not enjoy a family pack at your campsite or indulge in some Chiko rolls on the lush grasslands over the road from the venue. Either way, The Town Fryer is a must-visit.

Gelato Guys 1

Gelato Guys

Whatever the weather, there’s always room for dessert and for those looking for a sugar hit, Gelato Guys will not disappoint. Sorbet choices include Wild Berry, Passionfruit, and Vegan Chocolate; and Lemon Meringue, Espresso, Salted Caramel and many more delights await gelato lovers. Why not try something a little different and sample a native ingredient ice-cream? Fear not - vegans and those needing gluten-free options are all catered for too!
