The Lower Waterfalls of Gar (Mount Difficult)

Contact The Lower Waterfalls of Gar (Mount Difficult)

A true hidden gem of the Grampians is the newly opened track to the Lower Waterfalls of Gar. A part of the Grampians Peaks Trail, this walk offers unforgettable waterfall views.

Named in acknowledgement of the traditional name for Mt Difficult (Gar), this 4.2-kilometre walk is easily accessed via Troopers Creek Campground. It explores a series of seasonal waterfalls that are at their most spectacular after rain. You can also expect unrivalled views of our rugged mountain ranges from several rocky lookouts.

The walk is classed as medium difficulty and involves some steep stretches, slippery rocks, creek crossings and exposed cliff edges, so be prepared to get a little adventurous.
