Looking for something to do over the Easter long weekend? We've got you sorted with all the best Easter events happening in the Grampians!

1. EASTER IN STAWELL

Three days of action-packed racing, activities and entertainment make up the Stawell Gift Carnival. The main race, the Stawell Gift, is run over 120 metres, with the final being held on Easter Monday 2nd of April. The 2017 women's champion Liv Ryan will be returning to defend her title. This year Australia Post celebrates 24 years of supporting the Stawell Gift, with the organisation providing equal prize money for the Men's and Women’s Gift for the past four years.

The off-track action includes Fashions on the Field as well as The Cadbury® Easter Egg Hunt headlining a fantastic schedule of child-friendly activities including an athletics clinic and an animal nursery.

2. EASTER MARKETS

Head on down to Moyston for their annual Easter Market on Saturday 31 March. A wide range of stall holders will be selling homemade, homegrown and pre-loved items. The kids will have a blast with a jumping castle, art activities and of course an epic Easter Egg Trail!

The Halls Gap Market held on Easter Sunday will provide you with a strong coffee, handmade sweet treats and some funky arts and crafts worth exploring.

Also on Easter Sunday is the Natimuk Farmers Market Plus, a peoples Market comprising local produce, art, crafts, music and more. Be sure to also stop by the Arapiles Historical Society Trash and Treasure and Boot Sale - opposite the market.

3. WINE AND DINE

Make the most of your Easter break with a fine dining and live music experience at Steel Cutters Cottage Easter Shiraz Sunday. The afternoon commences at 1pm with live music until 5pm by talented local musician Riley Mason.

Local winemaker Adam Richardson will be hosting a wine tasting and the menu for the afternoon will feature charcuterie, French cheese tasting plates, and of course something chocolate to pair with a glass of classic Grampians sparkling Shiraz. Bookings are essential.

4. ADVENTURE TIME

If you're looking for something more adventurous to do this easter The Grampians National Park has many walks and hikes on offer. Step out and enjoy some quality time with your favourite hiking buddy.

For shorter walks that are suitable for any age or fitness level try the Silverband Falls or the Balconies Walk, both walks are easily accessible, flat and under 2kms.

For more of a challenge hikers can spend the weekend exploring the the first section of the Grampians Peaks Trail; a 36 kilometre, 3 day/2 night circuit walk departing from Halls Gap.

5. MEET THE EASTER ROO

It's no coincidence that kangaroos native to the Grampians region are also known as EASTERn Grey Kangaroos! The Grampians is home to plenty of wildlife including emus, echidna and birdlife.

There's plenty of places to see kangaroos around Halls Gap, or head to the Halls Gap Zoo to see over 160 species of animals. With an extensive range of Australian animals that you can feed and interact with, the Halls Gap Zoo is certainly a place worth visiting.
