The Grampians wine region is best known for its dense, purple and peppery Shiraz and sparkling wines. When in Ararat, stop in at Mount Langi Ghiran and Montara for a great cellar door experience and a wander through the vines.
In Great Western, you can discover the iconic Seppelt and Best’s wineries, whose vineyards date back to the mid-1800s. Tour Seppelt’s fascinating underground cellar, or take part in a regional wine tour with a local tour operator. Grampians Estate is the place to stop to enjoy some accompanying local produce in their new dining room overlooking the vineyards.
Located just a few kilometres from the historic Great Western township and just a half-hour from the ancient Grampians range, ATR Wines are open Thursday to Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 pm or by appointment on other days for winery visits and tastings. Neighbouring vineyard, Miners Ridge, is nestled on a gentle ridge in the foothills of Western Victoria’s Grampians region and is home to some of the region’s finest wines.

Continue west and find yourself in the cosy town of Pomonal. Don't go past Pomonal Estate for a wine, crafted beer or cider with a delicious cheese platter. Fallen Giants is a must-do when journeying into Halls Gap - enjoy their cellar door or have a picnic on the lawn while the kids enjoy the playground.
