An area of unspoiled and diverse scenery near the northern section of the Grampians National Park, Wartook Valley is a popular destination for outdoor lovers. Hit the nearby trails for a spot of bush walking, keep an eye out for local kangaroos, and visit in springtime to see the vibrant wildflowers in full bloom. Horse riding, rock climbing and fishing opportunities abound all year round, while rev heads will love a quad bike tour of the valley.

Set up in a bush tent or go for the eco-friendly rammed earth cabin. After a night surrounded by nature, warm up over a billy tea in the morning and watch the sun rise before continuing your adventure.

The area surrounded by the Wartook Valley is steeped in Aboriginal and pioneer history. Aboriginal rock art sites can be found in the surrounding mountains, most of which are open and accessible to the public.

Mount Zero, Hollow Mountain and Mount Staplyton are located just minutes away and some of the most spectacular Grampians waterfalls are within easy reach, including the majestic MacKenzie Falls.

Stop off at local farm gates to stock up on olive oils and gourmet table olives at some of Victoria's largest olive groves on your way home.

Wartook Valley is approximately 280 kilometres from Melbourne, or around three hours and 20 minutes by car along the Western Highway.
