Montara Wines

Montara Wines is captivating with its panorama of plains, mountains, vines and old-world charm of the Ararat gold rush days. Situated 200 kilometres west of Melbourne with a dramatic backdrop of the rugged sandstone Grampians mountain ranges, it is a feast for the eyes and the spirit.

Established in 1970, Montara Wines is today owned by the Stapleton family. They are firm believers that wine brings people together, so you will often find the Stapletons celebrating life with beautiful food, music, and wine. They hope to encapsulate this experience in each and every bottle crafted.

Montara's wines are estate grown and truly express the elegant, intense fruit characteristics reflective of the cool climate Grampians region. Wines include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.

Visit Montara's cellar door the first Friday of every month for their popular Wine Down Friday event, a monthly celebration with wine, food, and music.

Cellar Door is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 12 noon - 5pm for tastings, wine sales and produce tasting platters to enjoy onsite.
