Sydney’s Australian Esports League are coming to the Greater Hamilton region to run ‘The Greater Hamilton Esports Cup’ for the first time ever in Western Victoria.

This is a whole weekend of free esports and gaming for all ages in The Hub, Hamilton.

Play games with a cult following like Super Smash Bros, Rocket League, Just Dance and MarioKart plus other games in the drop-in Free Play Zone with additional free games suitable for beginners.

Over both days, players can win cash prizes and gaming accessories from the $1,225 prize pool.

Registrations for the tournament are free via the AEL website.

This live-streamed commentated event is brought to the Greater Hamilton region by Southern Grampians Shire Council in conjuction with their Digital Innovation and Smart Agriculture Festival (DISA).

The Esports Cup will occur the weekend after Council's DISA DigiHub - the Digital Education and Innovation Hub, a Friday expo for tinkerers and gamers of all kinds, 1-7 pm in The Hub.

AEL will run workshops for high school students in shoutcasting / commentating, alongside a range of hands-on workshops by One Day Studios creative maker space. Attendees can also play with drones, virtual reality, 3D printers, robots, animation, gadgets, and games, all while exploring pathways, careers and opportunities in the booming tech industry.
