Echidna Trails offers professional Forest Therapy experiences in the Gariwerd/Grampians National Park, Victoria. It plays a leading role here, in the growing area of wellness tourism, as Forest Therapy has many decades of scientific research behind it, showing benefits for both physical and mental health. These effects include reducing blood pressure and strengthening the immune system, as well as decreasing symptoms of stress and anxiety. Most Forest Therapy experiences are a two - three hour walk covering no more than two kilometres and is suitable for all fitness levels. During a Forest Therapy session, you will be using your five senses to engage with nature around you. Echidna Trails staff are accredited (International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance) Forest Therapy guides and will lead you through a series of guided activities to do this.
At the end of a Forest Therapy experience, people typically report feeling much calmer and happier. Research shows that this effect can last for a number of days.
