Step into the photography of Berlin based artist Andrea Grützner, 2017 ING Unseen Talent Prize winner. Through projection of light and use of film, the guesthouse called Erbgericht - a cultural heart of rural Saxony Germany, becomes a series of stage sets or backdrops for memories. Andrea’s photography transforms the interior walls, corners and passageways of this historic building into a series of striking and complex compositions.
The house is - as the cultural center of the village - a projection screen for generations of memories and emotions. As a guest with both familiarity with the area, and yet a feeling of alienation from it, I enter into a visual dialogue with this special building which has cast a spell over me for years. - Andrea Grützner
