Wartook Valley

The Wartook Valley is home to spectacular sunsets, brilliant night skies, rugged mountain views, waterfalls and wildflowers. There is an abundance of scenic walks and 4WD tracks to experience. You'll also find Aboriginal rock art and some of Australia's oldest olive groves.

Located on ‘the sunset side’ of the Grampians, it's only a 30-minute drive from Horsham, the capital of the Wimmera, where you will find great shopping, cafes and restaurants.

Local Tips:

• Adventure seekers can enjoy year-round horse riding, rock climbing, fishing, mountain biking, quad bike tours and wildlife watching.
• While you're in the area, spend a day visiting the gorges, lagoons and waterfalls at locations like MacKenzie Falls and Beehive Falls.
• See some of the largest olive groves in Victoria, like at the Grampians Olive Co., and stop to stock up on quality olive oils and fresh produce.
• Visit the Zumsteins picnic area in the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park on the banks of the MacKenzie River. Explore the site of an historic settlement, enjoy a barbeque and take in the wildlife.
• Whilst in the Black Range State Park, discover the Mudadgadjin Walk, which takes you to the significant aboriginal rock art shelter,
  and experience the wild swept caverns across the valley.
• Walk up Flat Rock in the North of the Grampians starting at Mt Zero (Mura Mura) carpark. Further along is Hollow Mountain (Wudjub-gayan) and Mt Stapylton (Wurgarri).
