DISCOVER THE SOUTH

Visit Hamilton, Victoria's first area of pastoral settlement, and experience the heartbeat of a thriving farming district. The regional city retains the feel of a grand old country town.  But with a vibrant arts scene, retail shopping, delicious food and wine and stylish accommodation, Hamilton is layered with a modern day appeal.

Heading down south is a fantastic way to experience the great outdoors. Take a casual stroll around the arboretum in Dunkeld where you can take in spring wildflowers and soak up the spectacular views of the Piccaninny, Mount Abrupt and Mount Sturgeon.

If you feel like getting a little more up close and personal, strap on the hiking boots and head for the hills. Take on the mountain trails and enjoy majestic views of the Grampians National Park.

Penshurst’s fiery past is sure to fascinate. Wander up a dormant volcano and learn more about the region at the Penshurst Volcanoes Discovery Centre. Step a few thousand years forward when you explore the Settler’s Walk in Cavendish and hear the story of its pioneers.

With vines for days, the Henty Wine Region offers plenty of opportunities to stop and sample some of Victoria’s best wines at boutique wineries. And make sure to leave some room in the boot so you can take some home for later!
