Grab your family and friends and head to one of the many 'Seriously Shiraz' events being held over the Father's Day weekend in a variety of stunning locations and venues.

Did we mention we were serious about our Shiraz? Winemakers in the Grampians know their stuff when it comes to making wine, and the region is known for its world-class wines, including Shiraz. With an amazing history that dates back over 100 years, this weekend is the perfect excuse to wine, dine, listen to music, meet the winemakers and discover what makes the Grampians wine region so amazing. Try our other wine varieties too - you might just find a new favourite!

11:00 am - 4:00 pm | Seppelt Underground Hourly Tours - Seppelt, Great Western

Seppelt is famous for their heritage listed labyrinth of underground cellars, known as The Drives, which wind for three kilometres beneath the historic Great Western home. With excavation beginning in 1868 by out-of-work miners from the early gold rush era and continuing for over 60 years, The Drives are the largest underground cellars in the Southern Hemisphere. 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM | Museum Night - Best's Wines, Great Western

Visitors to Best's Wines will have the rare opportunity to purchase and enjoy museum wines by the glass whilst relishing some classic tunes performed by local musician Chris Meek at Museum Wine Night. With Grampians Helicopters standing by offering twilight joy flights. Enjoy museum wine by the glass, vintages range between 1976 and 2009 and prices from $15 - $40. Entry is free. Learn More >


6:30 PM | Exhibition Opening & Art Auction - Pomonal Hall, Pomonal

Pomonal Art Show Exhibition in its 29th year is a proud partner of Seriously Shiraz in the Grampians. The show features metal sculpture, hand-blown glasswork, textiles, water colours, photography: over 200 pieces reflecting the diversity, creativity, and innovation of local artists. 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM | Underground Dining inspired by Dame Nellie Melba - Seppelt Wines, Great Western

This amazing dining experience will commence at 6:00 pm in the Seppelt Wines Shaft House. Your host will greet you with a glass of sparkling wine. You will then descend beneath the winery into the Seppelt Wines heritage-listed underground cellars “The Drives” for a personally guided tour before arriving at the famous “Dame Nellie Melba Drive”. Seppelt Winery's chefs will be preparing an exceptional era three-course meal, paired brilliantly with Seppelt Foundation Wines. Learn More >

9:00am - 5:00pm | Clayfield Wines, Moyston

Clayfield Moyston vineyard and winery was established in 1999. Clayfield specialise in Grampians Shiraz growing their vines organically, using traditional winemaking and handbasket pressing, producing a classic Grampians style. Learn More >


From 10:00 am | Fallen Giants, Halls Gap

Fallen Giants vineyard was planted on the steep Eastern slopes of the Grampians in 1969, and has long since been a respected grower for many of the country's great wineries. With superb views of the Grampians, this winery in the heart of Halls Gap is known for its estate-grown Shiraz, Cabernet, and Riesling. A James Halliday Five Red Star winery, Grampians Estate has collected some 53 trophies for its wines. The cellar door offers wine tastings, cheese platters, muffins and espresso coffee in a warm and friendly environment. Experienced staff will ensure your visit is a rewarding one. Learn More >


11:00 am - 4:00 pm | Norton Estate Wines, Lower Norton

Norton Estates Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc wines all display great balance and elegance with lifted varietal character, depth of flavour and complexity to satisfy the fussiest palate. 11:00 am - 8:00 PM | Mountainside Wines, Warrack

At Mountainside Wines you can wander the vineyard, enjoy a picnic with a platter of local foods, and soak up the views of Mt Cole, Mt Buangor and Mt Langi Ghiran. Relax, unwind and experience the beauty of the Grampians while enjoying a glass of wine and local produce. Mountainside Wines has four wines; Shiraz, Reserve Shiraz, Viognier and Nebbiolo. Celebrate the Seriously Shiraz weekend with Montara Wines as they re-open their cellar door on Friday, 30 August! Serving award-winning wines, beer on tap, and tasting platters, plus on 1 September, the Sunday of the weekend, there will be special celebrations for Father's Day including live music and a free beer for Dad! Continuing 160 years of Great Western winemaking heritage but focussed forwards to create modern wines that surprise with their combination of complexity, approachability, age-worthiness, and value. Join Adam for a personal tasting and tour, and explore the possibilities opened by a worldly and modern approach to this ancient craft. 10:00 am - 4:00 pm | Cellar Door Pop-Up - Henty Wine Region @ the HUB, Halls Gap

In celebration of the Seriously Shiraz Festival, wineries from the Henty Wine Region will be hosting a Pop-Up Cellar door in the Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre. This is a rare opportunity to meet and speak directly with the winemakers of Bochara Winery, Henty Estate, Hochkirch Wines and Jackson Brooke about their wine making philosophy and approach whilst sampling the best that the Henty Wine Region has to offer. From 11:00 am, 2:00 pm & 4:00 pm | Icon Shiraz Tasting - Mount Langi Ghiran, Bayindeen

As part of Seriously Shiraz, MLG will be hosting an intimate winemaker-led tasting of their icon Shiraz wines, held in their original hillside cellar vault, located in the middle of the vineyard. 11:00am - 5:00pm | The Journey to a Wine Label Art Exhibition & 4:00pm Presentation by Grant Thomas - Mountainside Wines, Warrack

Mountainside Wines is hosting an exhibition of the artwork of Grant Thomas, a local painter who has painted the Viognier vineyard at Mountainside Wines. This painting has been made into the wine label for the 2018 Viognier which has just been released for sale. Over the weekend he will also give a talk about his journey to creating a wine label. 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm | Seriously Shiraz Saturday Session, Bottomless Glass & Live Music - Seppelt Wines, Great Western

Join in the Grampians' Seriously Shiraz festivities for the Saturday Shiraz Session on the lawns of Seppelt Wines. There will be live music with Dave Nicholson performing live and loud from the Seppelt Stage. There will be gourmet food and plenty of wine, prosecco and beer flowing. For the wine lovers, you can purchase a “Seppelt Session Glass”, a limited-edition premium red wine glass to keep, that your hosts will keep filled all day from their outside bar, with a new wine opened every hour! Learn where it all begins. Andrew Toomey, viticulturalist and owner of Miners Ridge Vineyard and wines, has been growing premium grapes in the area for over 20 years. He will talk you through the seasons of growing and the complexities of viticulture. Learn More >

12:00 pm - 5:00 pm | General Tasting - Miner's Ridge Vineyard, Armstrong

Nestled in the foothills of the Grampians in Western Victoria, Miners Ridge nurtures 20 acres of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon on their home block. The winemaker at Miner's Ridge select the best fruit from their vineyard to make small amounts of boutique wines each year. Learn More >


1:00 pm - 2:30 pm | Blending Session - Best's Wines, Great Western

Visitor's to Best's Wines will have the rare opportunity book in for a fun wine experience during this years Seriously Shiraz Festival. Guests can learn the art of blending with winemaker Justin Purser and discover the intricacies and challenges tackled by winemakers when developing a consistent blend of a wine from year to year. 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm | General Tasting - ATR Wines, Armstrong

With a passion for creating wines that surprise the taster, but at the same time truly represent the vineyard in which they were grown, ATR Wines is one of the few wine growers to plant Nebbiolo in the Grampians, and the only one to grow Tannat and Petite Sirah (also known as Durif). They have used these varieties with a novel approach to create a series of unique and engaging red wine blends. Learn More >


3:00 pm | ATR & The Mule Variations - ATR Wines, Armstrong

What do you get when you pair winemaking and the quirky melodic tones of Tom Waits? Join Adam Richardson of ATR Wines to find out. Adam will guide you through five of his wines that are all inspired by his favourite vintage-time soundtrack, each paired with a small delicacy and quirky melodies. 6:45 pm - 11:00 pm | Dine with the Winemaker - Clarnette & Ludvigsen Wines | Steel Cutters Cottage, Great Western

To celebrate the 2019 Grampians Seriously Shiraz Wine Festival, Steel Cutters Cottage, in conjunction with guest winemaker Leigh Clarnette of Clarnette and Ludvigsen Wines will be hosting a five-course degustation dining experience on Saturday the 31st of August. The Steel Cutters Cottage Chefs have created five beautiful courses to showcase the collection of Clarnette and Ludvigsen Wines including the yet to be released 2019 Riesling and 2017 Reserve Shiraz.
