Wineries

Wind your way through the Grampians, hopping from winery to winery.

Acclaimed as one of the most beautiful vineyard sites in Australia, Mount Langi Ghiran near Ararat is renowned for its Shiraz - a beautifully romantic setting for a picnic and a wander through the vines.

Nearby Montara Wines is rich with the old-world charm of the gold rush days and panoramic views. Their estate-grown wines display intense fruit characteristics and elegance.

Travel north to Seppelt Wines – Great Western, one of the region’s most historic cellar doors, home to a labyrinth of heritage-listed cellars called the Drives.

Another of the oldest wineries in the region is Best’s Wines Great Western, continuously family owned and operated since 1866. Taste their excellent reds and top-quality Riesling and Chardonnay.

Head west to discover Norton Estate Wines and Barangaroo Wines, both producing delicately hand-crafted wines not far from Horsham.

Experience

The pleasant walk to the mountain summit at Langi Ghiran State Park reveals expansive views of ancient red gums, vast plains and distant mountains, in the ‘home of the black cockatoo’.

Take in the sunset at Reed Lookout, overlooking unrivalled views of Victoria Valley, Victoria Range, Serra Range, Lake Wartook and Mount Difficult. Walk the easy two kilometres from the same car park to The Balconies to experience the unusual rock formations that make this spot famous.

Create everlasting memories together with a scenic helicopter ride with Grampians Helicopters. Their Love Birds tour has been specifically designed for romance.

Pack a picnic of local produce and experience the region’s majestic waterfalls. The iconic MacKenzie Falls can’t be missed. You’ll find Beehive Falls with its water tumbling 25 metres into rock pools below in the north and down south are two waterfalls fed by the Wannon River.

The romance of the Grampians awaits – leave it all behind and truly be together here.
