Think of the Grampians and visions of rugged ranges, lush native bushlands, curious wildlife and welcoming wineries and eateries might spring to mind immediately. But our region is also home to a vast array of quirky and cool hidden gems. Here are a few to pop on your next Grampians road trip itinerary…
An exhilarating and quirky way to tour around the Grampians is on the rear two seats of a Boom Mustang Trike. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the iconic Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park with Grampians Trike Tours operating out of Halls Gap. Choose from a one or three hour tour, or customise your own with the operator.
Allow the team at Grampians Wine Tours to take you around the Grampians’ captivating silo art trail. Join a scheduled tour or, if you’re a group of six or more, arrange your own journey. The full day Silo Art Tour will take in Rupanyup Silo Art and surrounding attractions, Sheep Hills Silo, lunch at the Creekside Hotel in Warracknabeal before heading to Brim and Rosebery’s art.
The Grampians’ climate is ideal for olive groves. Head to Red Rock Olives in Pomonal, which grows and produces a variety of signature products. Visit Grampians Olive Co. in Laharum in the May-June harvest season to see the cold press in action. Both are picturesque places to stop for a delicious platter of produce and beverages.
Not your typical winery tour, an Underground Cellar Tour at Seppelt in Great Western will take you deep underground in the ‘Drives’, the largest underground cellars in the Southern Hemisphere - a winding labyrinth excavated in 1868 by out-of-work gold miners. Join the Ultimate Drives Tour or the Progressive Dine Deep experience which includes a three course meal.
Grampians Personalised Tours & Adventures will lead you to rare sights within the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park. The team is dedicated to preserving and protecting the Park, with sustainability at the heart of all they do. Have them design a 4WD, Wildlife & Birding or Bush Walking tour to suit your group.

Well known is the Big Pineapple, the Big Prawn and the Big Banana but have you heard of the Giant Koala? No trip through to Horsham is complete without a stop at the Giant Koala for a cheesy pic.
