With so many businesses in our region currently suffering due to COVID-19 restrictions, we'd love your help to show support to the families and producers of the Grampians region.
We know times are tough, but before you buy from a big chain, consider whether it's something we might produce instead. If you’re unsure where to start, we’ve put together our #MadeTheGrampiansWay movement and 5 ways that you can support our local businesses and their products. You can also stay up to date on our Facebook and Instagram pages, where we will continue to share the unique produce, cherished local businesses and locally crafted goods available for purchase, as well as latest updates in the region.
SHOP LOCAL, ONLINE
In today’s day and age, so many of us are fortunate enough to have access to the internet and online shopping platforms in times of need. Many of our small businesses have adapted to offer online shopping, making it easier than ever to show your support for our region from your very own home.
Are you preparing items for an Easter hamper or searching for the perfect Mother’s Day gift? Maybe you’re stocking up on pantry goods, or looking to send a care package to a loved one in isolation?
The Grampians community continue to provide us with an abundance of fresh local produce and wonderful preserves that would be perfect for gifting or purchasing for you and your family! Not to mention, there are dozens of boutique wineries scattered across the Western Victoria regions who offer home delivery services.
PURCHASE A GIFT CARD
Looking to send a birthday or thank you gift to a friend? Or, maybe you’re looking to give yourself a little treat! Show people you are thinking about them or pay it forward to a stranger by purchasing a digital gift card for them online. A gift card to one of our local businesses is an easy and convenient gift to purchase, and if you, or the gifted are not ready to redeem it just yet, you can save it and use for later down the road.
Staying connected is one of the best things we can do during isolating times, ensuring everyone feels supported. Don’t forget to check in with friends, family, and local businesses that you love. Showing your support doesn’t always mean having to spend money! By following our regions local businesses on social media, signing up to their e-newsletters or simply sharing one of their social media posts with your friends and family members you will be showing support during this difficult time. Take your support one step further by writing an online review for your favourite local business, engaging with their content on social media, and making recommendations to family and friends.
RAINCHECK YOUR HOLIDAY PLANS
The Grampians National Park community are extremely thankful for your ongoing support; however, we ask that you continue to support our local communities by postponing planned trips, rather than cancelling them. By re-scheduling a trip that you’ve planned, you’re allowing our local businesses the opportunity to rebuild and regroup.
HOLIDAY HERE THIS YEAR
When the time is right to travel, we urge you to consider holidaying here this year. Many regional communities like ours rely on tourism to thrive. That’s why we’re asking you to consider exploring what’s on your doorstep and visiting our beautiful region when the time is right to travel again.
As we work on overcoming these difficult circumstances, we encourage you to escape the chaos and focus on self-care, breathing fresh air, and connecting with loved ones. Remember what’s most important in life and #StaySafeAtHome.
