1. It's Show Time!
Grab the kids and head to Horsham for the Horsham Show, check out all the animals and participate in heaps of fun activities and competitions including a Kids Cooking, Craft & Decorating exhibition as well as the Miss Showgirl, Baby Showtime and Rural Ambassador competitions. If that is not enough this year the show is introducing the inaugural World Cubby Summit - Families are encouraged to come along and take part in making the world’s biggest cubby house village. The Horsham Agricultural Show is the perfect place to spend some family time outdoors with plenty of food and drink on site, so you can spend the whole day enjoying the show!

2. Inside The Brick LEGO Expo Hamilton
A visit to Hamilton isn’t complete without seeing the Inside the Brick LEGO Expo! Even in today's modern world of games consoles, smartphones, and laptops, there's still nothing quite as satisfying as sitting on the carpet and playing with a bunch of LEGO. More than 85 years old few forms of entertainment have stood the test of time like those colourful little interlocking bricks. If your kid loves LEGO then this is an event not to be missed. INSIDE the BRICK is an interactive LEGO experience that gives the whole family the opportunity to see fantastic original LEGO creations on display whilst also having some fun by creating your own in the hands on ‘Build Zone’! 3.Junior Rangers Spring BioQuest
Feel like being a park ranger for a day? Join the local park rangers in Halls Gap as you search for some of Victoria’s magnificent plants, animals and even fungi for the Spring BioQuest. Grab your smart device, head outdoors and explore to find all the animals, plants and fungi you can. You don’t need to be an expert, you just need to have a sense of curiosity. Rangers and experts will give you feedback and points for your sightings. Great family fun, with prizes to be won.

4.Go Wild at the Halls Gap Zoo
If your kids would prefer to spend time with some real animals, Halls Gap Zoo gives you the opportunity to have close encounters with a number of friendly creatures. Special animal food can be purchased to hand feed kangaroos, wallabies and deer or experience meerkats climbing onto your lap, go in with the dingoes or perhaps hold onto a reptile. You will have the opportunity to feed the wonderful creatures as they clamber and climb over you to eat their meal. This experience gives kids the chance to talk to the keeper to learn more about different animals and how they live in the wild.

5.Chasing waterfalls
If your wanting to spend a day outdoors with the kids exploring waterfalls in the Grampians is a must. Many of the waterfalls in the Grampians are only a short walk and have easy tracksand clear signage. The tranquil setting that greets you at the end of your walk will certainly be worth any effort. The iconic and spectacular MacKenzie Falls is a must do for all visitors to Grampians National Park. As one of the largest waterfalls in Victoria, MacKenzie Falls flows all year round, with water cascading over huge cliffs into a deep pool, sending fine sprays of rainbow mist high into the air above a stunning gorge. Another exciting waterfall for the kids is Silverband Falls. Watch the clear, fresh water fall fast down the mountainside into the creek below. The Spring holidays are the best time to visit the falls , to see wildflowers in abundance as well as animals like birds, frogs and kangaroos in their natural habitat.

6.Get Cultured at Brambuk
A visit to Brambuk National Park and Cultural Centre is an intriguing cultural experience for all ages. Situated in Halls Gap, the site incorporates the national park information and also the Brambuk Cultural Centre, which is the longest-running Aboriginal cultural Centre in Australia. Step into the world of aboriginal culture and history, hear the sound of the didgeridoo and learn about the creation story of Gariwerd. There are art exhibitions, artifact displays, cultural talks, and many activities including traditional dance, basket weaving, boomerang throwing, and painting. Open Daily the Centre also has a bush food cafe to try bush tucker and discover the diversity of plants the traditional indigenous use.

7.Outdoor Adventures - Absolute Outdoors
So, the family is looking for something adventurous to do together. How about the idea of tackling one of the many rock climbing sites in the Grampians? Absolute outdoors gives everyone the chance to have a go at a very easy introduction without the fear of being too high or too hard. A great way for the family to safely spend a day outdoors learning about the fundamentals of safety equipment, tying knots and getting your feet off the ground.
